Home Options Design provides preliminary design services for all types of projects. The list to the left is only a partial
listing of projects that I can provide preliminary designs for. I specialize in renovations, additions, and very complex structural modifications.
I also offer preliminary designs that focus on environmental impacts and efficiency. The industry refers to this as "green" project design.
The greatest use of a preliminary design is to save you valuable time and money by allowing you to get competative bids on a project without a full complete permittable set of plans.
This allows you to determine the feasability of a project with minimal up front costs. These preliminary designs can also can be used for
a design review process that many neighborhoods have.
The use of Computer Aided Design or CAD allows me to provided you with a 3D option where you will be able to fully visualize important details in the project.
I am confident that my preliminary design service will be a very affordable solution for your next project. If you decide to proceed with construction
of the project, you will want to consider my "Final Design" services where we offer fully engineered and permittable plans.
The basic steps in a preliminary design are:
• Meet with client to discuss scope of project
• Discuss environmental impacts of project
• Consider what options exist to minimize those impacts
• Draw existing and proposed project plans
• Final client meeting offering further options

A final design usually starts off as a preliminary design but does not have to.
Final designs consist of complete and fully permittable plans. If the project contains structural modifications or elements, all structural engineering
and raised seal plans are also provided.
